Claudia Hoppe

Claudia Hoppe ́s work unites traditional goldsmith ́s expertise with contemporary influences from product and jewelry design, installation, and sculpture. Although her pieces of jewelry are impressive as autonomous sculptures in their own right, they achieve full expression when they interact with their wearer ́s body. Gold, silver and stainless steel are joined by colours, which may gleam subtly from the interior or glow distinctly from the exterior. While the designs are handmade from paper, industrial technologies may also augment handcraftsmanship in manufacturing the jewellery. The resulting unconventional and expressive pieces of jewellery are displayed in numerous jewelry galleries in Germany and abroad, and have won many awards.
